Bridget Fizer is a multifaceted professional, encompassing roles as a teacher, fashion designer, handbag designer, and dressmaker. She began sewing at age 10 and has since developed a pragmatic approach to teaching sewing fundamentals and addressing creative challenges in garment construction. Since 1999, she has been imparting her knowledge as a design teacher, fashion designer, and dressmaker, in addition to serving as a "Creative Life-Coach" for aspiring designers and creative entrepreneurs.
A product of Houston Community College's Fashion Design Program, Bridget advanced to become one of its esteemed Adjunct Professors.
With over four decades of sewing experience and nearly two decades in creative retail, most of which were in managerial roles, she was inducted into The National Society of Leadership & Success in 2013.
Bridget founded Sewing Sewcial, a creative instructional company, leveraging her expertise as a Creative Life-Coach, Dressmaker, and Teacher.
As an HCCS student, she was honored with the Student of the Year Award twice, an Academic Excellence Award, and a Technical Excellence Award.
She secured finalist positions in The Museum of Fine Arts fashion shows, "Hapsburg Splendor" and "The Sculpted in Steel," in partnership with the HCCS Fashion Department.
Bridget's designs have graced The Allen Center and the Houston Public Library Downtown. Since 2015, she has led "Fashion 101" and workshops for the International Design Association aimed at interior designers and engineers.
At FGI-Dallas' annual fashion show, featuring entries from across the region, Bridget garnered accolades including "First Place in Menswear," "The Director’s Choice," "First Place - Handbags," and "Third Place in Menswear."
Twice annually, Bridget orchestrates fashion shows titled Beauty and Fashion in Purpose, celebrated in mid-summer and mid-winter. The fashion show gives scholarships to deserving up and coming fashion designers, while highlighting local designer’s new looks and having hands-on workshops for designers on various topics from the design industry.
